Bruce Charles Miller, 62, a Eugene resident and frequent visitor to the University campus, died in his home Tuesday morning of unknown causes.
Miller's longtime friend and self-described "confidant," Brian Kenny of Springfield, said Miller called him at approximately 8:20 a.m. and said he was having trouble breathing. Kenny said he called the paramedics and rushed to Miller's residence, but by the time he arrived approximately 15 minutes later, Miller had died. Sacred Heart Medical Center confirmed Miller was dead upon arrival at the hospital at 8:53 a.m. The death is being investigated by the county medical examiner's office.
